Principal's Message

Dear Plum Creek Parents Parents,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! We are thrilled to welcome all of you back to a new school year full of learning and growing. For those of you who are new to our school, I want you to know that you are coming to an absolutely wonderful place. At Plum Creek, every student will be provided the highest quality of education possible in a safe and supportive learning environment.

This year, our theme is “Writing Your Own Story.”  Our PC Champions will be charged with setting high academic goals and taking responsibility for their learning, which will impact their future story.  At Plum Creek, we strive for every student to reach 1.5 years growth in reading and math each year.

Over the past three years as principal, I had the chance to meet many of you and your children, and look forward to continue building a strong relationship with all of you in the upcoming year. Building strong relationships between home and school, student attendance, and parental involvement are key factors in increasing student achievement. We will have Family Literacy nights where you can check out a book from the library to read with your child, use the computer lab with your child, or participate in our Latino Literacy Project. In addition, our staff will be engaging in conversations around having a growth mindset, both academically and socially. When you enter our school, our hallways will be decorated with the 7 Mindsets (Everything is Possible, Live to Give, 100% Accountable, Passion First, Attitude of Gratitude, We are Connected, and The Time is Now). The 7 Mindsets will be the building blocks to provide a positive, school culture at Plum Creek. Each month we will send home a newsletter informing you of events happening at Plum Creek. It will also be available on our school website at Follow us on Twitter @plumcreekelem.

As principal, my door is always open and I welcome your input. I look forward to working with you and your child. We are excited for all of you to be part of our Plum Creek family!
