LJHS letter to parents about investigation of threat; Campus is safe

April 3, 2017

Dear LJHS Parents and Guardians,

Today Lockhart Junior High administration received information of a possible threat to the campus made by a student and immediately began an investigation. The investigation concluded the threat was not credible--student and staff safety were not at risk. Law enforcement was notified, and appropriate consequences will follow.

Student safety is our top priority, and we take threats very seriously. Any and all threats will be investigated. Please encourage your children to speak to an adult on campus anytime they hear or see something that may be unsafe. We will investigate those concerns immediately and work with law enforcement to ensure student safety. We want to work together to keep everyone safe.

I want to assure you the campus is safe for students and staff to come to school. Certainly, if you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at 512-398-0770.

Thank you,

Lori Davis
