Executive Principal's Message

Mission: Plum Creek Elementary, a community of diverse learners, is committed to being  locked on excellence through the daily use of engaging, high quality instruction.

Vision: Leading with Excellence and Heart!

Dear Plum Creek Parents,

Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! Whether you’re a returning family or new to our campus, we’re thrilled to have you as part of the Plum Creek community. You’re joining a truly special place where every student receives a high-quality education in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment. We are committed to ensuring a full year of growth and learning for every one of our Plum Creek Leaders!
#UNLOCKINGPOTENTIAL

This year’s theme is “There’s No Place Like PCE.” At Plum Creek, we believe every student has the potential to achieve great things when they are supported, challenged, and encouraged daily. We are committed to helping each student grow at least 1.5 years in both reading and math while becoming the best version of themselves every single day. Our focus on high expectations, goal setting, and personal accountability ensures that every Plum Creek Leader is on a path to success.

Our staff will also be fostering a growth mindset, both academically and socially. You’ll notice our hallways are filled with banners representing the 7 Habits of Leader in Me. This whole-school framework helps develop students’ confidence and leadership skills for the 21st century. The habits—Be Proactive, Begin with the End in Mind, Put First Things First, Think Win-Win, Seek First to Understand, Synergize, and Sharpen the Saw—are embedded into our classrooms, curriculum, and campus culture. These principles are the foundation of the positive environment we strive to maintain at Plum Creek.
#LOCKHEARTFORPEOPLE

Strong communication and consistent attendance are key to student success. When families and schools work together, students thrive both academically and emotionally. I encourage you to stay involved—volunteer as a reading mentor, connect with our PTO, and keep up with our weekly newsletters via ParentSquare. You can also visit our website at http://ples.lockhartisd.org, or follow us on Twitter (@plumcreekelem) and Facebook for updates and news.

This year marks my 25th year with Lockhart ISD, and as a proud graduate of the district myself, I will always be a lion at heart. As I continue serving as Executive Principal for both Plum Creek and Borchert Loop Elementary, please know that I remain fully committed each and every day to providing all students with a safe, supportive, and high-quality learning environment. My door is always open, and I truly value your questions, feedback, and partnership. I am filled with gratitude and excitement for the year ahead and look forward to a meaningful year of collaboration, growth, and shared leadership.

Sincerely,

Jamee Griebel, Executive Principal
